Global warming and climate change has become a global issues and concern within the regional and international levels.   In the context of national scope,  this issues had grew stronger after Indonesia had been selected to become host of the 13th Conference of the Party to the United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP 13).  The venue took place in Denpasar, Bali.

National Conference Of Insect Conservation in Tropical Landscape: Opportunities & Challenges
Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Bogor, West Java – Indonesia,  January 27-30, 2007

Center for Conservation and Insect Studies in collaboration with the Department of  Plant Protection, Entomological Society of Indonesia and Indonesia Plant Protection Student Association, co-organized a National Conference: “Insect Conservation in Tropical Landscape: Opportunity and Challenges”, in Bogor, Indonesia. This was the first national conference on insect conservation that has ever been conducted in the country. The topic of insect conservation was chosen because for a long time, insect has rarely been mentioned in many discussions on conservation. “HALIMUN CONSERVATION DAYS”
Halimun Mount, Sukabumi, West Java – Indonesia,  January 2005

PEKA Indonesia collaborating with the Coca-Cola Foundation Indonesia conducted a conservation education event – the “Halimun Conservation Days”.  This 3 days event took place in villages surrounding the Gunung Halimun area (Pangguyangan, Ciptarasa, and Sirnarasa), with the specific goal to promote conservation education for teachers and students in rural and urban areas.

Students and teachers from 6 different junior high schools in Jakarta and Cibitung, 2 elementary schools in Gunung Halimun, staff of CCFI learning center, and several journalists joined the event….Read More
